Description: Juniper is an evergreen shrub, and it can reach up to 1-4m tall tree. The bark is grey-brown. The leaves are sharp, needle-like glossy green below with a blunt dorsal margin. The fruits (galbuli) are globose, bluish black, with a whitish wax coating, usually with three grey-brown seeds. Blooms April- May.
Applications: Internal - favors the functions of excretory system in inflammatory processes of the kidneys. Supports the degestive system with its antispasmodic properties.
Externally - supports the function of the upper respiratory tract during colds - inhalations.
Method of preparation: Internally as an infusion with a diuretic effect:
Pour 2 teaspoons of fruit with 250mml of boiling water. 1 fruit 3 times a day ( up to 5 fruits per day).
Over time, the dose is reduced again to 3 fruits per day. As tea - 2-3 cups daily.
Externally - inhalations and baths - 200g of fruit are boiled in 1 liter of water - for baths.
Note: Do not take in patients with inflammation of the kidneys and in pregant women!
