Senna leaves for constipation

Latin name: Folium Cassii angustifolia Vahl or Folium Sennae
 

Constipation: the main active compounds in the herb are sennosides, which stimulate bowel movement. Because of this laxative effect, senna leaves are most commonly used for constipation. Has positive effect for chronic constipation, hemorrhoids, anal fissures (recommended for children because of the mild laxative effect).

For prolonged use, consult your home doctor.

Use: 1 cup 1 hour before meal, best before bedtime. The effect usually occurs 4-5 hours after the infusion.
 
Preparation: 1 tablespoon leaves are boiled in 300 ml of water for 5 min. After cooling, strain.
